Assay and organic impurities analysis of tetracycline using a polar embedded C18 HPLC column as per USP 39 monograph method
Instrument Type: HPLCThe Thermo Scientific Dionex UltiMate 3000 LC system is applied for the assay and organic impurities analysis of Tetracycline. The analysis was performed on a Thermo Scientific Acclaim Polar Advantage II C18 HPLC column using the method described in the USP 39 monograph. The results obtained for peak resolution exceed the criteria stated in the USP. Resolution between epitetracycline and tetracycline was 6.5 (USP criteria of NLT 2.5) and anhydrotetracycline and 4-epianhydrotetracycline was 8.7 (USP criteria of NLT 2.5). The tailing for tetracycline was 1.0 (USP criteria of NMT 1.5)
Quantification of EPA 1694 Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products in Water at the ng/L Level Utilizing Online Sample Preparation with LC-MS/MS
Instrument Type: LCMSMSThere is growing environmental concern regarding the health impact of trace levels of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in water resources. In response, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published Method 1694, which determines dozens of PPCPs in water, soil, sediment, and biosolids by HPLC-MS/MS. We demonstrate a progressive approach to analyzing PPCPs in environmental sources of water at the ng/L level with online sample preparation using small volumes of water, thus saving time and reducing the cost of analysis.
USP 38 monograph: assay analysis of tetracycline hydrochloride using a C8 HPLC column
Instrument Type: HPLCThe Thermo Scientific Dionex UltiMate 3000 LC system is applied for the assay analysis of tetracycline hydrochloride. The separation was performed on a Thermo Scientific Acclaim 120 C8 HPLC column using the method described in the USP 38 monograph. The results obtained exceeded the criteria stated in the USP. Resolution between 4-epianhydrotetracycline hydrochloride and tetracycline hydrochloride peak was 3.5 (USP criteria of not less than 1.2). Relative retention time of 4-epianhydrotetracycline hydrochloride with respect to tetracycline hydrochloride peak was 0.82 (USP criteria about 0.9).
