Thank you for using Thermo Scientific AppsLab Library of Analytical Applications.

This Privacy Statement applies to AppsLab Library of Analytical Applications, Virtual Column Online and LC Method Transfer Calculator sites.

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. Therefore, this Privacy Statement shall provide you with the relevant information about the data processing activities of all personal identifiable information ("personal data") related to the use of Thermo Scientific AppsLab Library of Analytical Applications, including what type of information is gathered and tracked, how the information is used, and with whom the information is shared. Information Collection

We collect and process the following personal data from you:

  • Personally identifying contact information such as: first name, last name, email, company, industry, country, state/province, city.
  • Information Passively Submitted: automatically collected information during your use and navigation of the Online Services, including the URL of the website you came from, the browser software you use, your pseudonymized Internet Protocol (IP) address, IP ports, date/time of access, data transferred, pages visited, amount of time you spend on the Online Services and information about actions and transactions conducted on the Online Services (see below for more details).

Purpose of the processing and legal bases

Your personal data will be used for the following purposes:

  • Enabling the browsing through our website;
  • Providing you with feedback to requests you may have;
  • Distributing information about us and market our products and services, in particular for those you download e.g., application notes or Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ Chromeleon™ Chromatography Data System eWorkflows downloaded from AppsLab Library.

Your rights and voluntary provision of information

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

    This is the right to obtain confirmation on whether we are processing your personal data or not and to obtain a copy of the data we are processing about you.

    This is the right to correct inaccurate data.

    Your request to erase your personal data when the storage of your data are no longer necessary for us for the purposes for which we collected them, unless we are legally required to keep these data for a certain period of time.

If you want to delete your account, please contact us at appslab@thermofisher.com. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority at any point.

Having a business relationship with us is voluntary, but we cannot effectively initiate or develop a business relationship with you without processing some personal data about you. The fields marked in red are the minimum data necessary to engage with us. The other data requested will help us to improve your services to you but are not compulsory.

Where the processing of your personal data is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

If you do not wish to receive certain communications from us, or our affiliates or representatives, you may opt out by: (1) declining the service offered when registering or at other information collection points on AppsLab Library, or (2) informing us that you no longer wish to receive such communications. This Website uses Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics, web analysis services provided by Google Inc. and Adobe Inc., respectively. Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics use cookies. The information generated by these cookies concerning your use of this Website (including your IP address) will be passed on to a Google/Adobe server based in the United States and saved there. In case of an activation of the IP-anonymization on this Website, your IP-address will be shortened by Google/Adobe within the member states of the European Union or in other contractual states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Use of Plug-ins

The Share buttons and Follow-us buttons installed on our Website in connection with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, ResearchGate and Google+ enable an exchange of data with the corresponding online platforms of providers. They enable Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn/ResearchGate/Google+ users to simply and directly undertake a linking of their profile with our online offer. Data stated in each profile or other data of Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn/ResearchGate/Google+ users will under no circumstances be transferred to us.

A use of the data generated/transferred by you through the use of the function of the Share buttons and Follow-us buttons is affected solely by the operators of the online offers connected via the Share buttons and Follow-us buttons in each case. We offer these functionalities exclusively as a special service for the users of Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn/ResearchGate/Google+.

Thermo Fisher Scientific does not provide the personally identifiable information you supply to us to outside mailing lists. We may share information about you with employees, affiliates within the Thermo Fisher Scientific group, successors, and agents/representatives (for example, consultants), which are required to treat the information in accordance with this Privacy Statement. Except as specifically described in this Privacy Statement, we will not, without your specific prior consent, sell, trade or transfer your information to unaffiliated third parties other than authorized third parties (such as, for example, contractors supporting operation of AppsLab Library) and other third parties involved in the distribution chain (e.g., vendors, service providers, principals for whom we act as agents or subcontractors), which may need access to some of your personal information in order to directly or indirectly fulfil a contractual obligation with you or for some other legitimate purpose. We oblige such third parties to comply with our Privacy Statement, and limit their access and use of your personal information.

In the event of any prospective or actual merger, business or asset sale, divestiture, other changes in control or financial status, or re-organization we may share or transfer personal information with the other party or parties involved. We will require the recipient to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

Occasionally, we may be required by law enforcement, government contract administrators, and/or judicial authorities to provide personally identifiable information to the appropriate judicial, governmental or regulatory authorities under applicable law, regulation or the terms of government contracts. For our customers in Switzerland and the European Union, please note that Thermo Fisher Scientific (as a US based company) operates also through its direct and indirect subsidiaries in countries outside of Switzerland and the European Union (including the USA) and may involve certain third parties (see section Third Parties below). If you use AppsLab Library, all information, including personal information, can be transferred to Thermo Fisher Scientific group companies (including subcontractors that may be maintaining and/or operating AppsLab Library) in the USA and elsewhere and may be transferred to third parties that may be located anywhere in the world (see section Third Parties below). Although this may include recipients of information located in countries where there may be a lower level of legal protection for your personal information than in your location country, we will protect your information in accordance with requirements applicable to your information. Data Retention

We will keep your personal information as long as you have an active account with AppsLab. If you request your account to be deleted, we will do so and retain only statistical information about your past use of the system.

"Linked-To" Websites

AppsLab Library may contain links that lead to other websites. We are not responsible for these other websites, and so their posted privacy policies (not this Statement) will govern the collection and use of your information on them. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of each website after leaving the AppsLab Library Website to learn about how your information is treated by others.

Tell a Friend

The "Tell a Friend" functionality in AppsLab Library allows you to send an email message to a friend or colleague informing them about a specific application or search in AppsLab Library. The AppsLab Library mail server is located in the USA. We are not using the email addresses of the recipients of a "Tell a Friend" email message for any other purpose than to deliver that email message. If you are using the "Tell a Friend" functionality, it is in your responsibility to ensure that the recipient of "Tell a Friend" email message has agreed to receive "Tell a Friend" email messages.
