Instrument Type: ICTobramycin is an important aminoglycoside antibiotic used in ophthalmic and intravenous treatments to treat bacterial infections by blocking protein synthesis.[1] Determinations of tobramycin, kanamycin and other aminoglycoside antibiotics have been previously demonstrated by HPAE-IPAD since 2004.[2–6] This document updates Thermo Scientific™ Application Note 61 using a highpressure-capable Dionex Integrion HPIC system equipped with updated EG technology and an electrochemical detector.
CAN119: Determination of Human Milk Oligosaccharides in Human Breast Milk by HPAE-PAD with On-Line Sample Cleanup
Instrument Type: ICIn this study, a method for quantification of six human milk oligosaccharides, namely 2'-fucosyllactose, 3`-fucosyllactose, 3'-sialyllactose, 6'-sialyllactose, lacto-N-tetraose, and lacto-N-neotetraose in breast milk has been developed and validated. The method is based on the HPAE-PAD technique for carbohydrate determinations without sample derivatization. With an on-line sample cleanup using a polymeric reversed-phase column, a “dilute-and-shoot” sample preparation scheme was applied, which significantly reduces sample handling time and therefore increases sample throughput.
TN116: Determination of Bromate by ISO Method 11206
Instrument Type: ICBromate is separated using a latexbased anion exchanger and a methanesulfonic acid eluent, followed by a simplified postcolumn reaction to form triiodide. This is subsequently detected by its UV-absorption. Because the reaction takes place at lower pH than other methods, no heating of the reaction coil is needed. These conditions prevent interference from chlorite, which is known to interfere in other bromate determination methods.

Instrument Type: ICThe accurate measurement of the amount of sugar in final molasses is economically important to sugar mills, because the purchase price of the final molasses is directly related to its sugar content. A high-performance anion exchange method with pulsed amperometric detection (HPAE-PAD) was developed to accurately determine the sugar concentrations of cane and beet final molasses samples.
