Forensic Screening for Drugs in Urine Using High-Resolution MS/MS Spectra and Simplified High-Performance Screening Software
Instrument Type: LCMSMSForensic toxicologists need an economical solution to screen for a virtually unlimited number of compounds in urine. Here we present a method for screening using a dilute-and-shoot approach with the Q Exactive Focus mass spectrometer and Thermo Scientific ToxFinder software. For forensic use only.
Quantitation of 122 Drugs in Urine by Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry
Instrument Type: LCMSMSForensic toxicologists face an ever-expanding list of compounds for analysis. This note presents work done using a next-generation triple quadrupole mass spectrometer with fast SRM acquisition speed for quantitation of 122 analytes in a single chromatographic run, where scan speed does not impact sensitivity or quantitative performance. Compounds analyzed include opiates, opioids, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, amphetamines, tricyclic antidepressants, illicit compounds, and more. For forensic use only.
API and counterions in Adderall using multi-mode liquid chromatography with charged aerosol detection
Instrument Type: HPLC-CADThis work demonstrates the determination of the API (amphetamine) and counterions (aspartate, saccharin and sulfate) in a medicine Adderall within a single analysis using a Thermo Scientific Acclaim Trinity P2 column and Thermo Scientific Dionex Corona Veo Charged Aerosol Detector (CAD).
Improved extraction of substituted phenethylamines from urine using Thermo Scientific HyperSep Servo+ AMP SPE and a Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD TG-5MS GC column
Instrument Type: GCMSThe Thermo Scientific GC system is applied for the analysis of commonly abused substituted phenethylamines from urine. The samples are prepared using Thermo Scientific HyperSep Servo+ AMP SPE cartridges, and the separation is performed on a Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD TG-5MS column, with MS detection. For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Improved analysis of API and counterions in Adderall
Instrument Type: HPLC-CADThe Thermo Scientific UltiMate 3000 HPLC system is applied for the analysis of the API (active pharmaceutical ingredient) amphetamine and its counterions. The separation is performed using a Thermo Scientific Acclaim Trinity P1 column, with both UV and charged aerosol detection. Amphetamine and saccharin respond to UV detection; aspartate, saccharin and sulfate respond to charged-aerosol detection. Note that metal contamination will cause peak tailing, and before use, the column should be cleaned with a chelating agent at pH 4.
