A robust, sensitive, and reliable multi-residue LC-MS/MS method workflow solution that uses the Thermo Scientific TSQ Altis triple quadrupole mass spectrometer provides analysis and quantitation of more than 160 veterinary drugs with the Thermo Scientific VetDrugs Explorer Collection solution in salmon (fillet), bovine muscle, and milk. The complete instrument and data processing method including SRM settings is included with the VetDrugs Explorer Collection start-to-finish workflow solution. In 17 minutes, the target veterinary drugs were detected and quantified in food matrices.
There is increasing demand to provide rapid and selective screening techniques for a wide range of antibiotic drugs. Their abuse as a feed supplement in food animals is of growing concern and is subject to regulations globally. Creating screening methods for multiple analytes is more cost effective than dedicated methods for fewer analytes. This application shows the advantages of using the Thermo Scientific Accucore Vanquish C18 UHPLC 1.5 µm column and Vanquish UHPLC system for the analysis of thirty-six antibiotics.
There is a growing concern over the presence of antibiotics in environmental sources of water. This has caused environmental and government labs to develop LC/MS methods to monitor water supplies for the presence of antibiotics. We developed a method to screen for antibiotics in surface water by applying on-line preconcentration and analyte extraction with LC/MS/MS detection.
Antibiotics are widely used to treat diseased animals, prevent diseases and promote growth. However, inappropriate or excessive usage of antibiotics can result in antibiotic residues being found found in food and food products of animal origin. In here, a multi-residue, confirmatory method for the quantitative determination of antibiotics in chicken meat is described using the Thermo Scientific Transcend TLX system coupled to an LC-MS/MS. With online sample cleanup and high sample throughput, this approach addresses the demand for a fast and cost-effective multi-analyte method.
The Thermo Scientific HPLC system is applied for the determination of tetracyclines in pork. The separation is performed on a Thermo Scientific Acclaim PolarAdvantage (PA) HPLC column, with UV detection at 360 nm.
