Comparison of five reversed-phase columns for the separation of 1-naphthyl isothiocyanate (NITC) derivatives of volatile amines

Instrument Type: HPLC

The Thermo Scientific UltiMate 3000 HPLC system is applied for the analysis of 1-naphthyl isothiocyanate (NITC) derivatives of volatile amines. The separation is performed on five reversed-phase columns; Thermo Scientific Acclaim C30, Acclaim 120 C8, Acclaim 120 C18, Acclaim PolarAdvanage and Acclaim PolarAdvantage II. The results were compared.

Fast analysis of 1-naphthyl isothiocyanate (NITC) derivatives of volatile ethanolamines using normal-phase chromatography

Instrument Type: HPLC

The Thermo Scientific UltiMate 3000 HPLC system is applied for the analysis of 1-naphthyl isothiocyanate (NITC) derivatives of volatile ethanolamines. The separation is performed in normal-phase mode on a Thermo Scientific Acclaim Mixed-Mode HILIC-1 HPLC column, with UV detection at 280 nm.

Fast analysis of 1-naphthyl isothiocyanate (NITC) derivatives of volatile alkylamines using normal-phase chromatography

Instrument Type: HPLC

The Thermo Scientific UltiMate 3000 HPLC system is applied for the analysis of 1-naphthyl isothiocyanate (NITC) derivatives of volatile alkylamines. The separation is performed in normal-phase mode on a Thermo Scientific Acclaim Mixed-Mode HILIC-1 HPLC column, with UV detection at 280 nm.

An improved analysis of multiple NITC derivatives of volatile amines using Thermo Scientific Acclaim RSLC 120 C18 HPLC column

Instrument Type: UHPLC

This work demonstrates the analysis of the multiple NITC derivatives of volatine amines using the Thermo Scientific Acclaim RSLC 120 C18 column with reversed-phase, gradient elution. 1-naphthyl isothiocyanate (NITC) reacts with amines in the trap, to produce a UV-absorbing thiourea derivative. This approach provides improved peak shape, better detection limits, faster analysis time and overall better economy.
