AN1002: Determination of Tartaric Acid in Tolterodine Tartrate Drug Products by IC with Suppressed Conductivity Detection (Carbonate/Bicarbonate Eluent)

Instrument Type: IC

This application demonstrates two faster IC methods that are accurate and reproducible for determination of tartrate in an encapsulated drug product containing the drug substance tolterodine tartrate which used to treat urinary incontinence caused by abnormal bladder contraction. Both methods use an electrolytic suppressor. The method shown here uses an IonPac AS22 column with carbonate/bicarbonate eluent and has an analysis time of 12 min.

AN1002: Determination of Tartaric Acid in Tolterodine Tartrate Drug Products by IC with Suppressed Conductivity Detection

The one shown here uses an electrolytically-generated potassium hydroxide eluent and IonPac AS20 column that requires only 10 min per analysis.

AB105: Anions and Organic Acids in Wood Extracts

Instrument Type: IC

This application demonstrates the analysis of inorganic anions and anions of organic acids in waste liquor from wood extracts. The sample matrix and the contaminant were removed from the components of interest using an IonPac NG1 column as an additional guard column. This application requires an autosampler equipped with 10-port valve. With this configuration, IonPac NG1 column is placed in line with the analytical column, while a second column rinsed in counter flow direction with acetonitrile/water, followed by a conditioning step using sodium hydroxide.

AN106: Ion (Ion Exclusion) Chromatography in the Pharmaceutical Industry

Instrument Type: IC

Ion Chromatography is a simple and accurate technique for the analysis and quantification of charged species. This application note describes the use of ion exchange chromatography and ion exclusion chromatography in the pharmaceutical industry for the analysis of ions in ingredients and final products. The topic of cleaning validation is also discussed as it applies to charged species. Here shows the separation of several weak organic acids by ion exclusion chromatography using an IonPac ICE-AS6 column.

AN273: Higher Resolution Separation of Organic Acids and Common Inorganic Anions in Wine

Instrument Type: IC

The method described here shows a higher resolution separation of the organic acids and inorganic acids found in wine than previously reported. This approach is applied to the separation and detection of organic acids and inorganic anions in four red and white wine samples.
