Analysis of Beer Using a High Speed U-HPLC Coupled to a Linear Ion Trap Hybrid Mass Spectrometer

Instrument Type: LCMSMS

We coupled a HRAM instrument to an ultra high pressure LC. The optimized LC method decreased the total analysis time from 130 to 25 minutes. Considerable time and cost savings facilitate routine process monitoring and quality control applications. Reproducible chromatography combined with reliable highly accurate mass measurements on the LTQ Orbitrap enable fast profiling of complex mixtures for their comparison (typing). Also, unknown components of the mixtures can be identified and their chemical structures confidently assigned using the MSn fragmentation capabilities of the LTQ Orbitrap.

Determination of electrolytes in sports beverages by HPLC-CAD

Instrument Type: HPLC-CAD

The Thermo Scientific Dionex UltiMate 3000 RS system is applied for the analysis of electrolytes in sports beverages. The separation is performed on a Thermo Scientific Acclaim Trinity P2 column, which is designed to resolve a broad range of anions and cations, mono- or multi-valent, in a single analysis using a simple gradient method. The Thermo Scientific OnGuard II P cartridge was used to remove artificial colors from the samples.

Improved analysis of soft drink ingredients using a Thermo Scientific Acclaim Organic Acid (OA) column

Instrument Type: HPLC

The Thermo Scientific HPLC system is applied for the analysis of soft drink ingredients. The separation is performed using a Thermo Scientific Acclaim Organic Acid (OA) column, with UV detection at 210 nm. The Thermo Scientific Acclaim OA column is uniquely suited because of its aqueous compatibility for the separation of organic acids, and its hydrophobic selectivity for the separation of preservatives.

Improved analysis of antioxidants from artichoke on a Thermo Scientific Acclaim PolarAdvantage II (PA2) column

Instrument Type: HPLC

The Thermo Scientific Dionex system is applied for the analysis of antioxidants from artichoke. The separation was performed in less than 25 minutes on a Thermo Scientific Acclaim PolarAdvantage II (PA2) column, with UV detection.
