USP-aligned ion chromatographic assay of magnesium sulfate using a next-generation electrolytic suppressor

Instrument Type: IC

This application note demonstrates a USP-aligned ion chromatography method for quantitative assay of magnesium sulfate using the Dionex IonPac CS16 column and NGES-C electrolytic suppressor. The method uses suppressed conductivity detection with 48 mM MSA and meets USP system suitability criteria, including Mg/Ca resolution, tailing factor, and %RSD. Linearity was confirmed from 10–300 µg/mL, and sample assays fell within 98–102% with low RSDs. The NGES-C improves baseline stability, noise reduction, and robustness for routine pharmaceutical QC.

Determination of nitrite and nitrate from lactose by ion chromatography using the NGES-A suppressor

Instrument Type: IC

This application note presents an ion chromatography method for trace nitrite and nitrate analysis in lactose monohydrate and colloidal silicon dioxide. Using a Dionex IonPac AS19-4µm column and NGES-A suppressor, the method achieved sensitive, selective separation with LOQs of 0.1 µg/g nitrite and 0.2 µg/g nitrate. Strong linearity, precision, and recovery support its use in USP-aligned nitrosamine risk assessment for pharmaceutical excipients

AN 004403: Screening of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in cosmetics: Utilizing a new combustion-ion chromatography system for total organic fluorine (TOF) analysis

Instrument Type: IC

A streamlined TOF workflow using the Cindion C-IC system was developed for PFAS screening in cosmetic products. The method has a TF detection limit of approximately 0.91 ppm, well below the level of 100 ppm often used as a screening threshold for high-fluorine samples, and the method is highly accurate and precise for both TF and TIF determination.

AN268: AN268, additional data: Effect of dissolved iron in MSA eluent when determining chelators (5 mg/L EDTA, NTA, DTPA, EGTA).

Instrument Type: IC

This is additional data not reported in AN268. Shows the effect of a Dionex IonPac CTC-1 trap column trapping interfering dissolved iron from manually prepared MSA eluent. This trap can be used in other applications where acidic eluents might have dissolved metal contamination.
