Pesticide residues screening analysis in tea and honey using a Q Exactive Focus High-Resolution Mass Spectrometer

Instrument Type: LCMSMS

We present a multi-residue instrumental method that can be applied for high-throughput screening and semi-quantitation of pesticide residues in food matrices at or below the current legislative requirements. A high-resolution, accurate-mass mass spectrometer operated in Full Scan – Variable Data-Independent Analysis (FS-vDIA)* mode provided an option for full spectrum filtering, retrospective analysis, and multi-parameter-based compound identification. The method was validated for 328 target pesticides, with an option for the future extension to a larger number. (*vDIA not available in US.)

Full-Scan Fragmentation Options for the Detection of Food Contaminants by an Affordable LC-Q-Orbitrap MS

Instrument Type: LCMS

The analysis of food toxicants is challenging because of the high number of substances that need to be analyzed. Pesticides alone account for over 800 analytes including other types of toxicants such as mycotoxins, plant toxins and/or veterinary drugs. The use of liquid chromatography with full-scan, high-resolution accurate mass spectrometry (HRAM) as an alternative is gaining in popularity. We compare two different scan options of a quadrupole-Orbitrap system, both offering full mass range fragmentation techniques, and to optimize performance in terms of sensitivity and selectivity

Variable Data-Independent Acquisition (vDIA) Delivers High Selectivity and Sensitivity in Combined Targeted and Untargeted Analyses for Small Molecules

Instrument Type: LCMSMS

Forty-four multi-class veterinary drugs of known concentrations were employed to demonstrate how the use of a generic variable data-independent acquisition (vDIA) method with wide MS/MS precursor isolation windows achieves sensitivity and selectivity comparable to data-dependent MS2 acquisition (using narrow isolation windows) in quantitative and qualitative small molecule applications. In addition, a full record of MS and MS/MS data for the measured sample fit for non-targeted and unknown screening purposes is delivered. vDIA is not available in the United States of America

Quick and Sensitive Analysis of Multiclass Veterinary Drug Residues in Meat, Plasma, and Milk on a Q Exactive Focus LC-MS System

Instrument Type: LCMSMS

To describe a new method for veterinary drug analysis, showing how the variable data-independent acquisition (vDIA) workflow achieves high sensitivity and selectivity, providing a complete high-quality data record of the measured sample. Quantitative analysis of the acquired data in combination with non-targeted and unknown screening is shown. vDIA is not available in the United States of America
