A fast separation of 2-AB labelled N-Glycans from polyclonal human serum IgG

Instrument Type: UHPLC

The Thermo Scientific Vanquish H UHPLC system is applied for the rapid determination of 2-AB (2-aminobenzamide) labelled N-glycans released from human serum IgG in less than 15 minutes using a 50 mm Thermo Scientific Accucore 150-Amide-HILIC column with fluorescence detection. The method is able to determine N-Glycans present at the asparagine 297 residue in the CH2 domain of the Fc region of IgG that play a crucial role in modulating the structural stability and functional activity relationship of the antibody.

Evaluation of Prelude SPLC and TSQ Endura Mass Spectrometer in Research Analysis of Testosterone in Human Serum

Instrument Type: LCMSMS

The analysis of testosterone in human serum for clinical research is currently performed using many different sample preparation procedures. In this note, we evaluated a Prelude SPLC system coupled to a TSQ Endura MS (Figure 1) in the analysis of testosterone using two sample preparation methods: online sample cleanup and offline sample cleanup. Each method uses specific chromatography, but both share the same mass spectrometer settings and parameters.

AN108:Determination of Transition Metals in Serum and Whole Blood by Ion Chromatography

Instrument Type: IC

The determination of transition metals in physiological fluids is of considerable interest in clinical chemistry. This application note describes an attractive alternative to traditional spectroscopic methods by using the principles of ion exchange. Separation between individual metals can be enhanced or altered simply by changing eluents (pyridine-2, 6-dicarboxylic acid or oxalic acid). This figure illustrates the selectivity on an IonPac CS5A column when using a pyridine-2, 6-dicarboxylic acid eluent.

Extraction and determination of rifabutin from serum using Thermo Scientific HyperSep SLE and a Thermo Scientific Hypersil GOLD HPLC column

Instrument Type: HPLC

The Thermo Scientific HPLC system is applied for the determination of rifabutin from serum. The samples are prepared using Thermo Scientific HyperSep solid supported liquid-liquid extraction (SLE), and the separation performed using a Thermo Scientific Hypersil GOLD HPLC column. For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

AU125: Monosaccharide Analysis of Serum

Instrument Type: IC

This shows the determination of xylose in serum by HPAE-PAD. During the xylose absorption test, which is administered to evaluate small intestine absorption, the amount of xylose in serum is determined. If there is a bacterial infection of the small intestine, xylose is incompletely absorbed and is present in serum.
