The Thermo Scientific HPLC system is applied for the analysis of artesunate and dihydroartemisinin. The separation is performed on a Thermo Scientific Syncronis C18 HPLC column, with UV detection at 210 nm. Considering the the Cmax of artesunate is 0.09+/-0.04µg/mL and that artesunate lacks an intensive chromaphore for UV absorption, MS detection is required to improved sensitivity. Within this application we will demonstrate an alternative method using a MS -compatible mobile phase.
