Fast separation of Organochlorine Pesticides (OCPs) using GC 0.32 mmID dual-column

Instrument Type: GC

Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD TG-OCP columns offer a fully separation of organochlorine pesticides in less than 7 min. The TG-OCP I and TG-OCP II column pair is designed with different selectivity, which changes several elution order to fill the conformational requirement of EPA methods.

AN342: Determination of PCBs in Large-Volume Fish Tissue Samples Using Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE)

Instrument Type: Automated Sample Prep

PCBs are a persistent organic pollutant (POP) and therefore are monitored in marine life including fish. Automated Solvent Extraction (ASE 350) technology, an automated extraction method, has been shown to produce good recoveries of naturally occurring PCBs from fish tissue samples, and is approved for use in U.S. EPA SW-846 Method 3545 for the extraction of PCBs, OCPs, BNAs, OPPs, herbicides, and dioxins and furans. ASE operates at elevated temperatures, thus increasing the efficiency of the extraction process. Here we demonstrate the extraction of PCBs in a raw fish tissue sample.

Fast analysis of organochlorine pesticides by GC-FID

Instrument Type: GC

In this work, the performance of a 0.15 mm internal diameter (ID) Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD TG-5SilMS GC column is compared with that of a 0.25 mm ID GC column. An increase in the speed of analysis for an organochlorine pesticide (OCP) reference standard mix using EPA Method 8081 is demonstrated with the 0.15 mm column. No compromise in the separation capability of the method was observed and conversion of the conventional method was easily achieved.
