Determination of Tetrahydroisohumulones using Standard On-Line SPE

The BeerNHop solution using an on-line SPE-UHPLC method was applied for the analysis of the Thermo Scientific tetrahydroisohumulones standard. Automated analyte enrichment was done by solid phase extraction (SPE) on a Thermo Scientific Hypersil GOLD C8 column. Then, the separation was performed on a Thermo Scientific Hypersil GOLD 3 μm column with UV detection at 270 nm. With a total run time of 20 minutes, the method allows fast screening for reduced isohumulones in beer. Hence, beers can be screened if they comply with the German purity law.

Determination of Humulones and Lupulones using Rapid Separation On-Line SPE

The BeerNHop solution for high throughput was applied to analyze the Thermo Scientific humulones and lupulones standard. Automated analyte enrichment was done by on-line solid phase extraction (SPE) on a Thermo Scientific Hypersil GOLD C8 column. Then, the separation was performed on a Thermo Scientific Hypersil GOLD 1.9 µm column with UV detection at 270 nm. With a total run time of 15 minutes, the method allows fast screening for remaining humulones (or lupulones). Hence, the isomerization progress during beer brewing can be observed fast and easy.
