AN815: Automated Solid-Phase Extraction (SPE) of Waste waters and Surface Waters Using the Thermo Scientific Dionex AutoTrace 280 SPE Instrument for EPA Method 608
Instrument Type: Automated Sample PrepEPA Method 608 uses liquid-liquid extraction by separatory funnel combined with gas chromatography and electron capture detector for the analysis of organochlorine pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in municipal and industrial waste water. Unlike the drinking water methods, however, analysis of waste waters and the streams they flow into, need to contend with particulates. The Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ AutoTrace™ 280 instrument has features that allow analysis of samples even with high amounts of suspended solids and is suitable for use in EPA Method 608.
AB875: Modification of EPA Method 608 for Automated Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) of Wastewaters and Surface Waters Using the Dionex AutoTrace Instrument
Instrument Type: Automated Sample PrepEPA Method 525.2, Determination of Organic Compounds in Drinking Water by Liquid-Solid Extraction and Capillary Column Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry, can be used as a basis for developing a liquid-solid Extraction method for EPA Method 608, Methods for Organic Chemical Analysis of Municipal and Industrial Wastewater. Unlike the drinking water methods, however, analysis of wastewaters and the streams they flow into, need to contend with particulates. The Dionex AutoTrace 280 instrument has features that allow analysis of samples even with high amounts of suspended solids.
AN1004: Automated Solid-Phase Extraction of Organochlorine Pesticides from Drinking Water
Instrument Type: Automated Sample PrepTwenty chlorinated pesticides were extracted from drinking water using a Thermo Scientific Dionex AutoTrace 280 Solid Phase Extraction Instrument (AT 280). The efficiency of the Dionex AT280 method was compared to the traditional liquid-liquid phase extraction (LLE). The manual extraction required significantly more time compared to the Dionex AutoTrace 280 instrument. Analyte recovery was improved using the AT280 Automated SPE instrument for the majority of compounds without sacrificing the precision of analysis.
