Increased speed and sample throughput of opioid analysis from human urine using micro-elution solid phase extraction

Instrument Type: LCMSMS

To describe a fast and reproducible optimization procedure for the isolation of opioids from human urine utilizing solid phase extraction (SPE). Subsequent analysis was carried out with liquid chromatography separation coupled to triple quadrupole mass spectrometry detection (LC-MS/MS).

AN1112: Determination of Anions in Breast Milk

Instrument Type: ICMS

Breast milk is the primary source of nutrition for newborns before they are able to eat and digest other foods, so there is a close correlation between breast milk quality and infant health. In addition to proteins and vitamins, the ionic elements such as sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, and nitrate in breast milk also are important for infant health. However, consumption of breast milk that contains a high concentration of these ions could lead to health issues. IC is an efficient means to determine anions. An ICS-6000 can be used for this application.

Analysis of Immunosupressant Drugs in Whole Blood Using a High-Efficiency Method on an Affordable High-Resolution Mass Spectrometer

Instrument Type: LCMSMS

Clinical research labs commonly use selective and cost-efficient LC-MS techniques for the analysis of immunosupressants drugs. Usually, the quantitative method is developed on a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer. Here, we evaluated a high-efficiency method implemented on a Q Exactive Focus hybrid quadrupole Orbitrap mass spectrometer for improved selectivity when compared to the conventional solution.

Quantitation of 25-Hydroxyvitamin D2 and 25-Hydroxyvitamin D3 in Plasma for Clinical Research Using the Prelude SPLC and TSQ Endura Mass Spectrometer

Instrument Type: LCMSMS

LC-MS methods have been widely used to analyze vitamin D2 and vitamin D3 25-hydroxy metabolites (25OH D2 and 25OH D3) in human plasma. Clinical research laboratories are always seeking fast and cost-effective methods to improve analytical efficiency. Here we evaluated a high-efficiency, simple sample preparation method implemented on a Prelude SPLC system that combines online sample cleanup powered by Thermo Scientific TurboFlow technology with chromatographic separation and a TSQ Endura triple quadrupole mass spectrometer.

LC-MS quantitative screening method for 18 anabolic steroids in oral fluid using MS2 spectra data collected with Q Exactive Orbitrap mass spectrometer

Instrument Type: LCMSMS

Androgenic-anabolic steroids (AAS) are drugs which mimic effects of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone in the human body. They increase protein synthesis within cells which results in buildup of cellular tissue, especially in muscles. Use of anabolic steroids by athletes to increase body weight is referred to as doping and is banned by major sporting bodies. In this work we implemented Thermo Scientific Q Exactive ultra high resolution mass spectrometer to ensure high method specificity and sensitivity.
