In this application, we describe the use of automated eluent generation, combined with a high-capacity, hydroxide-selective, anion-exchange column—the Thermo Scientific Dionex IonPac AS18—for the determination of inorganic anions in environmental waters. The hydroxide-selective Dionex IonPac AS18 column is a superior alternative to the Thermo Scientific Dionex IonPac AS9-HC column using carbonate eluent, which is described in EPA Method 300.1.
This application demonstrates the simultaneous determination of total nitrogen (as nitrate-N) and total phosphorus (as phosphate-P) using a high-capacity hydroxide-selective Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ IonPac™ AS19 Analytical Column with suppressed conductivity detection after alkaline persulfate digestion.
