Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD TG-OCP columns offer a fully separation of organochlorine pesticides in less than 7 min. The TG-OCP I and TG-OCP II column pair is designed with different selectivity, which changes several elution order to fill the conformational requirement of EPA methods.
Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) belong to a broad family of synthetic organic compounds known as halogenated hydrocarbons. Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) belong to a broad family of synthetic organic compounds known as halogenated hydrocarbons. The method reported here is applicable for the determination of 29 halogenated hydrocarbons (6 PCBs, 16 OCPs, and 7 PBDEs) in fish tissues.
The Thermo Scientific Trace 1310 ISQ system is applied for the direct injection of extracted organochlorine pesticide and pyrethroid samples. Separation is performed on a Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD TG-5SilMS column with MS SIM detection.
In this study, a fast, easy, and robust workflow was used to analyze pesticide residues in baby food. Accurate and sensitive detection, quantification, and identification of pesticides in baby foods is of particular importance because babies are more vulnerable to adverse health effects from these chemicals.
This application aims to demonstrate the performance of the Thermo Scientific ISQ GC-MS system equipped with the Instant Connect Helium Saver Injector for the analysis of organochlorine pesticides. In particular, the analytical performance of the Instant Connect Helium Saver Injector is remarkable in terms of both area and retention time repeatability. As for the other Trace 1300 GC Series injectors and detectors, the Helium Saver benefits from its modularity, providing freedom from helium supply shortages, while maintaining the same excellent behavior of the traditional SSL injector.
