The goal of the methodology described here was to demonstrate the suitability of a simplified, cryogen-free method for the analysis of VOCs in exhaust gases, using thermal desorption (TD) coupled to dual-column gas chromatography-flame ionization (GC–FID) detection.
Using an analytical system comprised of Markes CIA Advantage-xr canister autosampler, Kori-xr water removal device, and UNITY-xr thermal desorber coupled to a dual-column Thermo Scientific™ ISQ™ 7000 single quadrupole GC-MS, for the analysis of ozone precursors, air toxics and oxygenated volatile organic compounds in ambient air.
