AN1120: Determination of Anions in Process Water from Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage Oil Sands Extraction
Description
SAGD is used for the extraction of hydrocarbons from oil sands. Recovered process water is treated to reduce ion content prior to reuse in steam generation. In this Application Note, water samples obtained from SAGD oil sands processing were analyzed using a Thermo Scientific Dionex ICS-5000+ Reagent-Free High-Pressure Ion Chromatography (HPIC) system for anion determinations using Thermo Scientific Dionex IonPac AS18-4µm capillary column.
