Determination of Isohumulones in Beer using Rapid Separation On-Line SPE Be the first to rate this application

Description

The BeerNHop solution for high throughput was applied to analyze untreated beer. Automated analyte enrichment was done by on-line solid phase extraction (SPE) on a Thermo Scientific Hypersil GOLD C8 column. Then, the separation was performed on a Hypersil GOLD 1.9 µm column with UV detection at 270 nm. With a total run time of 9 minutes, the method allows very fast screening for isohumulones in beer. Hence, beer bitterness is quantified and the isohumulone pattern is identified in a matter of minutes. The BeerNHop solution is a valuable tool for the daily business of each brewery.
