Characterization of Tween 80 Surfactant by HPLC-CAD
Instrument Type: HPLC-CADTween 80, or polysorbate 80, is a polymeric, non-ionic surfactant. Due to the variety of different structures contained within this complex product, a characterization method is described to determine the relative amounts of the different components, which may vary from lot-to-lot.
Single Peak Quantitation of Tween 80 by HPLC and Corona Charged Aerosol Detection
Instrument Type: HPLC-CADTween 80, or polysorbate 80, is a complex non-ionic surfactant which is quantified using a fast gradient HPLC method on a C1 column. The universal, mass-based Corona charged aerosol detector is used for quantitation of this polymeric analyte. Baseline subtraction is used to eliminate baseline effects. Limit of quantitation is 78 ng on column (o.c.), based on a peak area relative standard deviation (RSD) of 15%. The dynamic range was 78 - 5000 ng o.c. with R^2 of 0.9997 and a calibration RSD of 2.8%. This method is designed for a fast quantification of Tween 80 as a raw material.
