In this technical note, methods are presented for the separation of lanthanides by both anion and anion exchange. Depending on the ratios of the lanthanide elements in a particular sample, either method may be preferred. An anion exchange method for separating transition metals from lanthanides is also presented. This record shows the cation-exchange method.
