A robust, sensitive, and reliable multi-residue LC-MS/MS method workflow solution that uses the Thermo Scientific TSQ Altis triple quadrupole mass spectrometer provides analysis and quantitation of more than 160 veterinary drugs with the Thermo Scientific VetDrugs Explorer Collection solution in salmon (fillet), bovine muscle, and milk. The complete instrument and data processing method including SRM settings is included with the VetDrugs Explorer Collection start-to-finish workflow solution. In 17 minutes, the target veterinary drugs were detected and quantified in food matrices.
We developed a sensitive and reproducible LC-MS/MS method to detect ten β-agonists drugs in animal-derived foods.
We developed a robust analytical method for the analysis of 29 acidic and basic pharmaceutical residues in drinking water using online sample preparation. At the same time, we hope to reduce time spent on sample preparation and reduce opportunities for human error.
The Thermo Scientific HPLC system is applied for the analysis of β-agonists. The separation is performed on a Thermo Scientific Accucore Phenyl-Hexyl column, with MS detection.
In this example, pork was extracted with organic solvents in a Thermo Scientific ASE Accelerated Solvent Extractor. Evaporation and reconstitution were difficult, so it was overcame by using solid-phase extraction (SPE). SPE is most effective when it is orthogonal to the analytical separation, so a Thermo Scientific Acclaim Mixed-Mode WCX-1 cartridge was used to retain the drugs, and washed away lipids and other interferences with organic solvent. The auxiliary valve then transferred the drugs to an Acclaim C30 column for RP-HPLC analysis.
