Hydrocarbon Oil Index Determination in Water Using a Simple, Cost-Effective System

The Thermo Scientific Trace 1310 GC equipped with a FID detector and a PTV injector has been used for a fast Hydrocarbon Oil Index determination in water, in less than 10 min. The PTV injector assures no discrimination across the entire boiling point range up to C40, being compliant with the official regulation EN ISO 9377-2. The Chromeleon CDS software offers an intelligent and convenient solution for data acquisition and reprocessing, with customized reporting system including calculation dictated by the official guidelines.
