AN000685: Determination of KDO from Bacterial Polysaccharides
Description
KDO (3-deoxy-D-manno-oct-2-ulosonic acid) is an eight-carbon sugar mostly confined to Gram-negative bacteria. KDO can be used to quantify the amount of a known lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (the moles of KDO per mole of liposaccharide must be known). The hydrolysis conditions were optimized for the release of KDO from an LPS and a method for its quantitation has been developed using HPAE-PAD. In this application note, we develop, optimize, and validate a HPAE-PAD method for the determination of KDO.Market: | BioPharma |
