AN72780: Determination of Lactose in Lactose-Free Dairy Products using HPAE Coupled with PAD and MS Dual Detection Be the first to rate this application

Description

In this application, we used mass spectrometry (MS) along with pulsed amperometric detection (PAD) to detect residual lactose in lactose-free dairy products. A Dionex™ CarboPac™ PA210-4μm column separated lactose from structurally similar milk sugars using KOH eluent produced online by an eluent generator. A “tee” was placed immediately after the column to split the flow, thus enabling both PAD and MS detection. Coupling MS to the HPAE separation provides higher detection selectivity and sensitivity for this application.
