AN72438: Determination of Organic Acids in Animal Feeds using Two Ion Chromatography Methods (Method A)
Description
Organic acids and their salts such as citric acid, malic acid, formic acid, lactic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, and fumaric acid are animal feed additives which play an important role in animal. In this application note, the animal feed sample is extracted with water. The extract is filtered or centrifuged and diluted, if necessary. The amounts and types of OAs from the sample are then determined using two IC methods. Method A is based on anion-exchange separation and method B is based on ion-exclusion separation.
